PHP Expert/Engineering Manager

ELEKS Software Engineering and Development Office is looking for a PHP Expert/Engineering Manager in Argentina.

ABOUT PROJECT

Our client is the USA-based agency that provides comprehensive home health care services across a vast geography. The ELEKS team will help this organization to improve their technology solutions and approaches.
PHP Expert/Engineering Manager will be a key member of the team, responsible for leading developers, working on architecture design and migration planning from legacy to the new system.

REQUIREMENTS

• 7+ years of experience in PHP
• 3+ years of experience with JavaScript libraries (React, Next)
• Knowledge and experience with Laravel
• Experience with monolithic systems with MVC architecture
• Experience with AWS and AWS Certification
• Prior experience of working in healthcare domain would be a plus
• Integrations using HL7, FHIR
• Experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL
• Experience with application reengineering and redesign
• Performance optimization experience (DB queries, Caching etc)
• High proficiency in English

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Algorithm Development: Create solutions and algorithms based on technical specifications, employing standard algorithms at an expert level where applicable
• Software Development Methodologies: Demonstrate deep understanding and hands-on experience with development methodologies like Waterfall and Agile
• Code Quality and Standards: Write well-structured, formatted, and documented code, adhering to company and industry standards for naming conventions and best practices
• Code Optimization and Refactoring: Perform refactoring and optimization, sharing results with the team as best practices to enhance collective knowledge
• Code Testing and Debugging: Modify and test existing code, ensuring it meets readability and performance standards while identifying and resolving defects
• Version Control: Utilize version control systems for logging, merging, splitting, and committing changes following established rules
• Testing Procedures: Develop and execute testing protocols, including diagnostic data collection, test data generation, and verification of software compliance with technical requirements
• Documentation and Backups: Maintain comprehensive documentation of actions, problems, solutions, and software deployment while ensuring application and data backups are created and recoverable
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with stakeholders to define tasks, break them down into manageable parts, assign them to developers, and oversee their execution
• Knowledge Sharing and Training: Conduct internal and external training sessions, mentor team members, evaluate expertise, and promote niche technologies within projects, while consulting on new projects and marketing initiatives
