ELEKS is looking for a Data Governance Officer in Europe.
ABOUT PROJECT
We’re growing our team at ELEKS in partnership with a company, the UK’s largest renewable power generator, primarily using sustainable biomass and hydroelectric power.
REQUIREMENTS
- A post graduate information management or data governance qualification or experience working within an information management or data governance
- A solid understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, data quality, records management and master data management
- Experience of using cloud-based applications, for example Salesforce, Office 365 and SharePoint
- Knowledge of data governance principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — able to liaise with staff at all levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities
- Ability to work with technical and non-technical staff
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong team player, able to work effectively as a member of the team sharing working methods to enhance the overall performance of the team
- Driven and enthusiastic individual, persistent in their approach to delivering against agreed business objectives
- Ability to manage priorities and deliver successful outcomes in agreed timeframes
- Create a view of data lineage for critical reports
- Establish and review data quality rules for critical data elements
- Support classification and Data Loss Prevention
- Ability for occasional business trips to the client at UK
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Improve the quality of data within our core systems and introduce an enterprise taxonomy and ontology consistently across the business and systems
- Engage with the architects, systems owners and business users to ensure that data quality requirements are defined, documented and translated into effective and consistent processes that improve and monitor the quality of our data
- Create and maintain ownership accountability of corporate data systems and data assets
- Support maintenance of standards, policies and procedures
- Support teams across Drax to ensure data governance policies and practices are embedded throughout the company
- Help establish best practice and ownership of the corporate taxonomy and ontology
- Embed and align Drax’s information security strategy with any data governance programs and initiatives
- Use specialist knowledge and expertise to identify Improvements through reducing data redundancy and appropriate data reuse
- Help assess and identify risks in line with the Drax risk management approach, ensuring they are mitigated and accounted for work within the data governance programme
- Support and supervise information stewardship activities and management of data quality, retention and uses
- Develop and enforce data quality metrics in data domain dashboards.
- Support project planning and management to ensure best practice and legal frameworks are followed with regards to data governance
- Work closely with Records Management Specialists to maintain a Record of Processing Activity and transition to document management in 0365 with utilisation of sensitivity (classification), classification and data loss prevention (DLP) capabilities
