Senior Scala Developer

ELEKS Software Engineering and Development Office is looking for a Senior Scala Developer in Poland or Croatia.

ABOUT PROJECT
The enterprise we work with is a cybersecurity automation and data analytics company from the UK. Their Continuous Controls Monitoring platform offers Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) visibility into all assets, ensuring confidence in the effective operation of security controls. This platform presents a unified and trusted perspective spanning business lines, regions, and technology platforms.

REQUIREMENTS

• Strong foundation with Java and/or Scala
• API development experience with frameworks such as Java/Spring and/or Scala/Play
• Strong foundation in Software Engineering best practices around unit & integration testing as well as principles such as SOLID
• Strong communication skills and “own-it” mindset with experience working in SCRUM agile teams
• At least an Upper-Intermediate level of English

• Experience working with big data applications
• Experience working with data and data pipelines
• Experience with Scala/Spark
• Experience with ETL/ELT applications
• Experience with AWS services such as EMR
• Experience working with Snowflake

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain reliable software in line with technical requirements, focusing on performance and availability
• Analyze requirements, review designs, and estimate user stories following project methodology (Agile, Waterfall, etc)
• Proactively propose code refactoring and optimization improvements according to the best software development practices and coding standards
• Help maintain and improve high-quality standards within the developer community by sharing knowledge, conducting tech talks, and participating in the internal promotion verification process
• Stay up-to-date with modern technology and obtain professional certifications
• Support less experienced developers by providing training, distributing, and monitoring tasks
