Solution Business Analyst

ELEKS Business Analysis Office is looking for an independent contractor (B2B involvement) for a Solution Business Analyst role in Vancouver, Canada.

ABOUT PROJECT

Our client is a world-leading independent owner and operator of containerships, headquartered in Canada. With over 20 years of experience in fleet life-cycle management, the client provides long-term leasing solutions and ship management services to major global shipping companies.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis, preferably on midsize or large projects (10+ people)
  • Proven experience in discovery phases and working closely with stakeholders to define project scope and requirements
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI or relevant certification
  • Strong skills in requirements elicitation, including the use of various techniques and facilitation of stakeholder sessions
  • Ability to build and manage business requirements effectively, choosing the right modeling and documentation approaches
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to see the big picture, plan work accordingly, and deliver iteratively
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to work independently, owning the BA process end-to-end
  • Flexibility and adaptability to project changes and evolving client needs
  • Experience in business process modeling, familiarity with BPMN and tools for process documentation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management abilities
  • Availability for a short-term, onsite engagement with potential for extension based on project needs
  • Advanced level of English

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define business needs and business change drivers
  • Manage customer expectations and translate needs into effective solutions
  • Elicit requirements using different BA techniques (interviews, focus groups, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task, and workflow analysis, etc.)
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, and distinguish user requests from underlying needs
  • Document, analyze, and prioritize detailed business requirements based on users and business needs
  • Proactively identify improvements that would increase efficiency or productivity in work effort, processes, or application features
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders
  • Plan and Coordinate BA team at the project
  • Conduct BA team coaching and mentoring (subordinate RAs and BAs, QAs, etc.)
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of business analysis practices, as well as other procedures
  • Develop requirements and other project documentation templates
  • Conduct requirements audit
