We are looking for a Head of Legal department in Lviv.
ABOUT PROJECT
The Head of Legal Department is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the company’s legal function, ensuring full compliance with local and international legislation, minimizing legal risks, and providing business-oriented legal support to executive management and key stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS
- Higher legal education
- 8+ years of professional legal experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role
- Experience working in a manufacturing company or with a manufacturing business is mandatory
- Hands-on experience in corporate, commercial, and labour law
- In-depth knowledge of Ukrainian and international legislation
- Experience in legal risk management
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to work with complex stakeholders
- Understanding of balancing risk and opportunities on behalf of the company
- Experience interacting with government authorities and external advisors
- Strategic thinking and strong business orientation
- High level of responsibility and ethical standards
- Strong leadership, communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment
- English – Upper-Intermediate
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic and Management Responsibilities
- Building and developing the legal function in line with the company’s business strategy
- Leading the Legal Department (planning, prioritization, team development, responsibility for hiring)
- Advising top management and the business on legal matters
- Managing legal risks and participating in managerial decision-making
Corporate and International Law
- Legal support of corporate matters (company structure, governing bodies, corporate documentation)
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts (supply, manufacturing, logistics, sales, services, NDAs, etc.)
- Supporting relationships with counterparties, contractors, and partners
- Handling cross-jurisdictional matters and cooperation with the legal entities in Poland and USA
Manufacturing and Regulatory Compliance
- Legal support of manufacturing operations
- Ensuring compliance with industrial, environmental, labour, and technical legislation
- Interaction with regulatory and government authorities
Litigation and Claims Management
- Managing litigation and pre-trial disputes
- Coordinating work with external legal advisors
- Overseeing claims and litigation activities
- Development and implementation of internal policies and procedures
- Ensuring adherence to corporate compliance principles
- Monitoring legislative changes and implementing them into business processes
