ABOUT PROJECT

We are looking for a Senior Appian Developer to join a project focused on building a reusable Design System for the Appian platform. The goal is to create a branded framework of reusable components, design assets, styling standards, and implementation guidelines that will enable application teams to deliver consistent, accessible, and brand-aligned user experiences across multiple Appian applications.
The project involves translating design assets created in Figma into reusable Appian components, configuring Appian theming and styling, developing component libraries, and creating advanced UI patterns that can be adopted across future products.

REQUIREMENTS

4+ years of experience with Appian platform development
Strong expertise in Appian SAIL interface design and development
Experience configuring Appian Sites, Themes, Branding, and Design Systems
Solid understanding of reusable component architecture and UI framework development
Experience creating custom Appian interface objects and wrapper components
Strong knowledge of Appian Records, Process Models, Expressions, and Rules
Experience with Appian deployments, environment setup, and platform configuration
Proficiency in CSS and UI customization within Appian
Experience working with design systems and component-based development approaches
Ability to interpret and implement designs from Figma
Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA)
Experience performing UI testing and quality assurance
Strong communication and documentation skills
Upper-Intermediate or higher English level

NICE TO HAVE

Appian Senior Developer or Lead Developer certification
Experience building enterprise-wide design systems
Knowledge of UX/UI design principles
Hands-on experience with Figma and design token management
Experience integrating Appian applications with external systems and APIs
Knowledge of responsive design best practices
Experience developing dashboards, analytics views, and advanced data visualizations in Appian
Experience working in financial services, banking, or enterprise digital transformation programs
Familiarity with frontend technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, and advanced CSS customization

RESPONSIBILITIES

Configure and customize Appian Design System components within Appian environments
Translate Figma design specifications into reusable Appian SAIL components and interface objects
Develop and maintain reusable UI wrappers, design tokens, and shared component libraries
Configure Appian global theming, branding settings, CSS Profiles, and custom styling assets
Create and maintain reusable interface objects for standard Appian components
Design and implement complex UI patterns, dashboards, grids, forms, and charting solutions
Ensure consistency between Appian implementations and approved design specifications
Conduct visual quality assurance and accessibility reviews
Develop technical and user-facing documentation for reusable components
Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, business stakeholders, and application teams
Participate in design reviews, knowledge transfer sessions, and solution handovers
Identify platform limitations and document implementation gaps and workarounds
