Senior/Middle Java Developer

ELEKS Software Engineering and Development Office is looking for an experienced Senior/Middle Java Developer in Poland, Croatia.

ABOUT PROJECT
Our client is the leading provider of enterprise open source software solutions. Currently we are seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to the sustaining of the client’s Enterprise Application Platform. In this role, you will build solutions for customer requirements and bugs to improve the quality of the platform.

REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years of experience in software development – for Middle position and 4+ years – for Senior Developer position
• Experience with development of Java EE applications
• Practical experience with Maven, Linux software packaging and Git
• Practical experience with scripting (Bash, Python)
• Experience with testing (Junit, TestNG) at least on unit-test level
• A positive attitude and desire to share ideas openly
• Proven ability to work autonomously
• Upper-Intermediate English level

• Experience in debugging and performance tuning
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
• Experience with continuous integration, pipelines, or Jenkins
• Middleware development experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be responsible for developing and maintaining platform code, including:
• Develop solutions to improve the quality of the platform and its components
• Maintain and write unit and integration tests where necessary
• Conduct analysis of root causes of problems
• Be effective working in a collaborative, distributed environment across different time zones
• Design, develop, and maintain reliable software in line with technical requirements
• Analyze requirements, and independently estimate and set up tasks’ acceptance criteria
• Evaluate and coordinate tasks’ deadlines with the Technical Leader or Project Manager
• Apply the best software development practices and coding standards to produce high-quality and performant solutions
• Stay up-to-date with modern technology and optionally obtain professional certifications
• Participate as a trainer or a trainee in various learning programs outside the main project
